Quick rules
- Long in and long out both cost — ask for the length the task needs ("headline figures", "one paragraph", "full draft").
- Big documents: check the tool's input limit; split into sections rather than trusting a silent truncation (Lesson 3's Kerry decision).
- Bills are explained by usage data, not by asking the assistant about itself.
- Rising bill? Audit habitual output lengths first; vendor pricing second.
